I have been teaching for nineteen years and absolutely love it. I enjoy teaching so much that my husband and I opened our own school in Austin, TX. We have four classes at our school. We start with two year olds and go through first grade. I currently am teaching a combo class that includes 4, 5, and 6 year olds. I originally was born in Connecticut and went to college in upstate New York at Elmira College. (GO EC!)

I started my teaching career in Massachusetts before moving to Texas 5 years later. After a brief return back to the Northeast, I’ve recently moved back to Austin, Texas where the snow melts fast, the summer sun shines nine months of the year, and I can trade my snow-blower for a swimming pool.

For a time I also taught at a school in the Dominican Republic. It was a departure from my usual classroom since I was serving as an administrator, equipping Dominican and Haitian natives and American teachers at the school how to more effectively manage their classrooms and develop curriculum and teaching techniques that would help their students succeed. It was a wonderful experience and one that I will never forget.

I am happily married to the love of my life and we have three amazing children. Our children are 13, 15, and 19.

Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope you find it a useful and informative resource for your teaching career. I’d love to get to know you, too. Feel free to drop me a message and tell me how you’ve grown as a teacher.
